HAJFL 2025 Info
Everything you need to know

Communication

The email listed as primary on your athlete’s account will be the one receiving communication emails from HAJFL. We strive to keep you in the loop and will share information via Facebook (Howell Area Jr Football League), Instagram, and our website. Team Coordinators will reach out once rosters are completed.

Fundraising

HAJFL is a volunteer-run non-profit. We’ll have restaurant fundraisers and activities to help offset the rising costs and keep our fields and equipment in top shape. If you want to sponsor, donate, or help, reach out to secretary@hajfl.com.

DIBS (Volunteer Spots)

These are volunteer spots that your family will need to complete before the end of the season. Each family must fulfill at least four (4) DIBS. Each week, a list of available spots will be posted on the HAJFL website and you can sign up online. This will be accounted for by signing in and out of the volunteer spots at the time of volunteering. More details and a “how-to” video will be sent once the season starts in early August.

Picture Day

We will have pictures indoors on Monday, August 25th. You will receive a link to order and more details will come out soon.

Strength & Conditioning

Three evenings of organized drills, football skills, and fun! Athletes should come prepared to be active in athletic clothing, cleats/tennis shoes and plenty of water. Families are welcome to stay and watch.

Jersey Fitting

Please be sure your athlete attends one of the dates offered. They will try on shoulder pads and a jersey to be sure they have a correct fit. At this time you will confirm and sign off on their top 3 picks for jersey numbers. Jerseys are ordered with their name on them, so it is important you double check spelling is correct!

Team Placement

If your athlete has a sibling that is currently playing in HAJFL grades 4th–8th, they will be placed in the same Color Group as their sibling. Otherwise, your athlete will be placed in a draft that will happen mid May. As soon as the rosters are set, your coaches will reach out to you and welcome you.

Equipment Pick Up

Please come with a $300 check written to HAJFL for each athlete. This check will be held in a safety deposit box. At the end of the season, this check will be returned when equipment is returned and if all DIBS are completed. Please be sure your athlete attends one of the scheduled pick up days and comes wearing shorts that football pants can be pulled over to be sure they have a great fit. You will receive: 1 Helmet, 2 pairs of pants and a set of shoulder pads. We do require practice jerseys and they will be available for sale at this time as well. We accept cash, check or credit card. Practice Jerseys are $20 each.

Swag

Who doesn’t love their SWAG? We will have some samples of items that will be available via our online order site. More info will come before the season starts so you will have gear to show off your HAJFL spirit!
