About Us

What is the HAJFL all about?

The HAJFL is a non-profit, volunteer sponsored program.  The HAFJL Football & Cheer program is to develop the youth of our community in ideals of good sportsmanship, discipline, honesty, loyalty, and courage so the participants can grow and develop into healthier, stronger, happier youth to reflect credit on themselves, their parents and our community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure the attainment of exceptional athletic skills while balancing achievement in accordance with these principles.

Few Reminders

  • Physicals will need to be turned in on the first day of practice so don't forget to schedule your appointment.  Physicals must be dated after 4/15 of current year for fall sports.
  • A copy of your child's report card for the 1st day of practice - used to prove what grade they're going into.
  • ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS need a copy of birth certificate, not just varsity players.
  • Cheerleaders do not need birth certificates only report cards.

Weather Cancellations

If practices need to be cancelled due to inclement weather, the board will contact Head Coaches, Team Coordiator, post on the HAJFL social media and send an email  to parents as soon as that decision is made. Players are expected to come to practice unless they've heard otherwise from a coach or board member.

From KVYFC:

Due to inclement weather games may be officially delayed, suspended or cancelled by mutual agreement of both communities and commissioners.  Games may be rescheduled.  The waiting period is 30 minutes after the most recent lightening strike before a game may restart.

HAJFL College Scholarship

HAJFL, coordinating with Howell High School (information is posted on their list of available grants/scholarships for seniors), gives scholarships to those boys or girls who apply and have participated in the HAJFL league. Applicants write a letter explaining why they are requesting scholarship money, what they have learned from playing in our league, what their career plans are, etc. Applications and the completed request form from the high school are emailed to howelljrfootball@gmail.com or mailed to HAJFL PO Box 412 Howell, MI  48844.  The HAJFL board will vote on the best qualified candidates, and present a check to the recipients at the awards ceremony at Howell High School.

Game Schedules & Team Standings
